(4 hours, 22 minutes and 25 seconds
from West Palm Beach to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
The National Aeronautic Association has just certified
Richard Kane's flight as officially world-record
breaking. Kane ---who lives west of Lake Worth
made the flight last month as part of the Centennial
of Flight Celebration. Kane's small special
edition Cirrus has a souped up engine and is made
of especially light materials: Between West
Palm Beach and Kitty Hawk, Kane stopped only once
- partly to re-fuel and partly for a bathroom break
for his pregnant wife who was along for the ride.)
