Coastal Technologies Group Completes
SAS 70 Audit
International Standard Recognizes Coastal’s
Strong Controls and Safeguards for Hosting and Processing Customer
Data
BOCA RATON, FL – Nov. 28, 2005
– Coastal Technologies Group Inc. (CTGi), a leader in call
detail processing, accounting process and OSS support for the
telecommunications industry, today announced that it has completed
a SAS 70 audit — an in-depth examination of CTGi’s
ability to securely process and host critical customer data. The
SAS 70 audit is an internationally recognized, in-depth review
of a service organization’s internal controls, including
the environment, activities and processes for risk assessment,
information, monitoring and communication.
By successfully completing the audit, CTGi has clearly
demonstrated that it has implemented some of the industry’s
most stringent controls for its call detail processing services.
The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 make SAS 70 audit reports even
more important to the process of reporting on a service organization’s
internal controls.
CTGi’s ASP Call Management Platform (CMP)
underwent rigorous evaluation of its operational processes which
were designed to ensure reliable processing and analysis of call
detail record data, the basis for numerous CMP service features
including Revenue Assurance, PIU Analysis, cost accrual reports
and bill audit support. CMP’s advanced, patented and patent
pending software technologies enable complete, detailed, multi-dimensional
analysis of telco service provider call volumes, thereby guaranteeing
complete and accurate reporting.
“Coastal processes more than 10 billion call
detail records each month, so ensuring accuracy of processing
and the safety and control of our customer’s data is our
utmost concern. Our customers base their accruals and public filings
on numbers we generate, so our reporting must be completely correct,
verifiable and timely.” said Richard Kane, president and
CEO of CTGi. “By completing the SAS 70 audit, we can now
clearly and authoritatively document the processes and controls
we have in place to ensure the security and the protection for
our customers’ transactions and data. In today’s environment,
it’s never been more important for our service provider
partners to feel confident in their cost accruals based on reliable
CTGi data”
Based on the results of the SAS 70 audit, CTGi can
provide customers a detailed description of their security controls
and safeguards, as well as an independent assessment of the design
and effective operation of these controls in operation. CTGi’s
SAS 70 audit was performed by Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C. Accounting
of Boca Raton, Fla., an independent CPA firm serving companies
throughout the United States.
