Coastal Technologies Group Relocates
Data Center and Doubles Processing Capacity - Transactions exceed
7 billion for the first time in March 2004!
Boynton Beach — April 6, 2004 —
Coastal Technologies Group has relocated its data center to a
facility that has provided a much larger space dedicated to housing
their hardware, enabling them to double their processing capacity
and significantly increase system reliability.
In their new location, the data center is
monitored around the clock 365 days a year. This constant surveillance
includes network monitoring for all servers and the system’s
bandwidth, which verifies that the system is continually operational
and that there are no alarms.
As part of the company’s renewed investment
in their infrastructure, they’ve added a full-time software
technician onsite whose primary focus is to monitor and maintain
the system. With the addition of onsite personnel comes greatly
increased system reliability and a preparedness to handle any
unexpected issues immediately. The company also has access to
monitor and administer systems remotely.
The new facility has significantly improved processing capacity
of the data center. This increase in processing power allows CTGi
to handle twice as much call detail data as before – up
to as many as 12 billion calls per month. Additionally, they’ve
invested in increased storage to maintain and archive processing
results and raw data, which can be scaled infinitely to meet customer
demand.
The facility also offers physical security
via a card access system to ensure the highest level of protection
of system data.
“We are positioned for the future,”
said CTGi President, Richard Kane. “With the significant
increase in processing capacity and the absolute reliability this
new data center provides us, along with our best-in-class product
line, we are poised to set a new standard for transaction processing
and management in the telecommunications industry.”
The facility allows for CTGi customers to
choose between leasing bandwidth from the host provider or providing
it themselves. The state-of-the-art facility provides redundant
OC3s, enabling the company to provide additional bandwidth as
needed, and it runs a distributed parallel system with redundant
hardware and server clusters.
CTGi has a strictly enforced plan for maintaining
their new facility. Redundant power conditioning, environmental
controls and backup generators are tested on a monthly basis.
Coastal Technologies Group, Inc. has been
servicing the telecommunications industry since 1996 with its
unique line of high quality software products and services. CTGi
applications are utilized by some of the largest telecommunications
companies in the world and have been proven to save them millions
of dollars per month.
